The Tory's loose seats in this city not by there fall from grace but by getting rid of the sitting councillor, the deposed councillor then stands as an independent, it does not take much to realise that if you add the Tory vote and add the deposed councillors independent vote you would have had a majority if you had stuck with the original candidate, it is bad party policy that has brought about these losses in Peterborough, not the performance of national government as most would have us believe, it is all well and good bringing in the young, but in a lot of cases it just does not work, much of the population are elderly so have an understanding of politics, they will only vote for who they trust someone they know will work for them, not the young political animal who really has no idea as to what the local population wants or needs, I believe that a cap should be put on the age you have to be before you can become a councillor, you have to have life experience to be able to understand a city and it should not be seen as a job to be paid for, you should be proud to represent your community not to look for payment to do it, expenses yes payment no.
