I had to spend an overnight visit to a hospital, last week I received a letter regarding my stay, it said that I had an abnormal amount of fluid around my heart, but as I could walk several hundred yards with no problem could I be referred to a cardiologist, now this is the funny bit if you can find it funny, I am not able to walk more than 25 yards without severe pain and discomfort, I move about outside with a stick or a mobility scooter, at no time was I ever asked as to how far I could walk, so how they could make this statement I have no idea, I have since contacted them and they are going to send my GP a second report with an amendment, I really do give up on the NHS.

Phone Hacking

It has to be said that without a doubt this happened, so why all the fuss, we know that the News of the World were up to their necks in it, as a member of the public, do I want to see this trail of non event people heading into the inquirery, No not really, I don't particularly care how reporters get the news, if there was not investigative journalists who use all sorts of methods to obtain their stories, would we ever know what is going on? is that wrong?, may be may be not, so some of what has happened was and is wrong, some is fine, just how long is it going to go on, there are many more things here and abroad that needs to be heard rather than all this clap trap.

Doctors

I see that the doctors are to go on strike about their pensions, £68,000 per year, they will not work to 65, I would have thought that was pretty good, I have two pension's and my state pension, and my wife's state pension £15,000 maximum, less 20% tax of course, I would ove to get £68,000 a year, they should realise that they are compared with the majority of the public in an extremely good situation, I feel sorry for you regarding your hours, the paperwork you have and the new work load you have been given, I support you on this aspect but as far as pensions,  go pull in your belt and do what the rest of us do, Get By, you are not likely to get the general public on your side in this.

NHS

It is quite worrying when a doctor writes a comment about you that is not true  just might cost you your life, I have a letter which tells my GP that I have no problem walking a couple of hundred yards without any problems, well for a start no one has ever asked me at this hospital how far can I walk !!, so how did this come about I have not the slightest idea, but this letter is a report on my last visit to the hospital, they found that I have an abnormal amount of fluid round my heart, the comment that I can walk the distance stated says that it is not causing me any problems, well the truth is I am having problems and have been for some time, I am unable to walk any distance now as I have severe pains in my legs and on occasions in my chest, so a phone call was made this morning, but of course they have not got back to me, so it is on going at the moment.

Religion

I was born in 1946, my family was Catholic and I at the age of 7 became an alter boy, I was one till I was 23, I could at that time recite Latin phrases in reply to the priest, took some learning though, the teacher would stand in front of us with a very long stick, if you got it right it was OK if wrong you got a bang on the head, you learn very quickly, I had to serve on the alter on many occasions during the week this was for funerals, what a sad time for a young boy, to watch all these elderly people crying at their loss, I was usually OK as I had escaped school for the morning or afternoon, trips in some very smart motors and some times a half crown, so on the way back to school 20 number 10 fags and a box of matches. all fun and games, all through this never once was I promoted to be a suicide bomber, what is a matter  with today's youth???.

money and the Euro

what a  joke all this is becoming, Greece just not knowing what is going to happen to them, and in the background Spain with its banks being slapped on the hand, now we have the G8, the USA just what has the USA to do with Europe??, the French and Germans can quite happily blow it all apart, thank God the UK is not in it, I know we will be affected by what happens but at least we have our own money, one good thing at least we will get cheaper holidays if the Greeks leave the Euro.
What will happen in London at the Olympics?, exchange rates will be rotten for the visitors, they will get less and our banks will no doubt make more, God save us all !!.

Afganistan

Two more dead soldiers brought home, shot dead by of all people a police officer, an officer that no doubt was trained by us, so this is the repayment to us, it has to be time to get the hell out of it, it is just not worth the risk, as far as these two go may they RIP.

Obesity in Children

I have said it before but I will say it again, obesity in children is the parents fault no other, it is Child Abuse, they will not grow out of it, processed foods every day are a NO NO, we have to get back to eating proper foods, do you want children to suffer Type 2 diabetes???, well if YOU do not do something about it, it will happen!!!, no time to waste get it sorted NOW.

Murder

Just seen the result of a case of murder of a child in Peterborough, he was found guilty of murder and received life 17 years 6 months minimum to serve, she found guilty of allowing a child to die, but and here is the stupidity neither of hem was guilty of child abuse, just how you come to that decision is beyond me, killing the child or allowing the child to die has to be child abuse or am I stupid?.

NHS

Andrew Landsley desperately trying to protect his bill on the HHS, the nurses put him on the spot but will he listen will he hell, again we are in the game of we know what is best for you you don't, we will make it better for you!!!, will you I do not think so, I know of GP's who are up to their necks in it, just wish it would go away, so we don't want it we don't need it, for Gods sake listen for once!!!!!.

Sexual Asaasult

Well we are off again, Pakistani men grooming white girls for sex, they are passed round a group of men for whatever sexual acts that they feel that they would like, this is with out a doubt sick, just what gives these men the right to abuse young white girls, I thought that they were all religious and would never stoop so low as to be seen as scum, it matter's not that they see these young girls as tarts to have done to them as and when, now I seriously hope that the judge who tries them gives them the minimum of life not a silly 5 year spell, so to finish if this is as it seems an epidemic in Greater Manchester who says that it is not going on where ever there is a Pakistani community, we have to stop this trade in very young girls, who are only looking for friendship and kindness, what do they get booze drugs and then sexually abused, I dare anyone to say that this is acceptable, any one caught who it an immigrant he and his family should be deported on completion of his prison term, we don't want them here.

Ambulance service

Now we are back on home ground, just what is going on with The East Anglian Ambulance Service, you ring for an ambulance what do you get?  a quiz then a decision that just may be you really need a call back, but do you?, how is that decision made and who makes it, is it a medical person ?, no, so just how is the decision made, question and answer quiz, if you happen to answer incorrectly you might just get a phone call rather an ambulance, how can you answer questions when you are stressed out ?, how do you know just what is the matter with the person I am ringing about?, that is two of us who are not medically trained so just how the hell do you manage to get an ambulance??, if you know please let others know you will be doing everyone a favour.

Thew service and I use that term loosely regarding hospital transport is being abused by the management, they for some reason are changing the way that they pay mileage for the voluntary drivers who use their own cars to provide an excellent service for patients, but it just might be about to vanish the system it seems will be that these drivers will only get paid a mileage when a patient is sitting in the car, if this is a change for the better I think not, I need to use this service shortly I do not want to be sitting around waiting to go or even worse sitting in the hospital waiting to go home, there will be a big bang if I do have trouble.

Bad Day

I had some bad news today, a friend who I served with in the Army has died aged 67, a very nice man who I had a great respect for, I very much hope God welcomes him.

Next the Bombing in Syria, the world has now I am sure gone mad, the people responsible for these crazy events should be locked up and kept quiet, it never stops to amaze me the silly men who become involved in this brain washing to get impressionable young men into this stupid idea as to the benefits that they might have in heaven by killing themselves and anyone else near by, it is time for this stupidity to cease I say no more death and destruction in this World of our but I do not think there is a  chance in hell.

Then we have all these people on strike in the country, it is a shame that police pay and cuts are mixed with pension problems, people should be aware that you need a second pension to be able to survive, the one thing that you never expect is the fact that if you do have a small second pension you are hammered by income tax, it is a real pain, but the reality is that we all have to pay for the Blair / Brown years.

Child Obesity

What are we doing to our children??, when you see 9 year old's obese it is frightening, processed food and a life style of playing games on the computer, this is not ideal in the least, I have been saying to people for years that this has to stop, children need to eat good food not this junk from the freezer, there is no excuse for parents, they  have had their children now it is time to look after them, I am so busy is just not an answer, coming home from work and dipping into the freezer, going for a big mac is and can't be an option, yes as a special outing may be but on a regular basis no way, obesity can and does mean that diabetes is a possible illness that just might strike, be a life time pain for your child, and as it is a progressive illness and a shortened life, do we really want our children to have this illness for LIFE or do we want them to adopt a healthy life style??, of course we do so the answer in my mind as I said better food and plenty of exercise, it is simple really.

Europe

Well France has changed its leader, will this be good I hope so for Europe, why it is the EU is it seems run by France with German backing, it is a funny country , very unfriendly to the British, this is sad really when you consider the men that have died in the defence of France, also the liberation although the Free French made out that it was them, so best of luck to them but do not ask me to worry about what might happen to Europe with a socialist leader I hope they make the best of it, and we the English should not need to worry about what might happen.

Election

The Tory's loose seats in this city not by there fall from grace but by getting rid of the sitting councillor, the deposed councillor then stands as an independent, it does not take much to realise that if you add the Tory vote and add the deposed councillors independent vote you would have had a majority if you had stuck with the original candidate, it is bad party policy that has brought about these losses in Peterborough, not the performance of national government as most would have us believe, it is all well and good bringing in the young, but in a lot of cases it just does not work, much of the population are elderly so have an understanding of politics, they will only vote for who they trust someone they know will work for them, not the young political animal who really has no idea as to what the local population wants or needs, I believe that a cap should be put on the age you have to be before you can become a councillor, you have to have life experience to be able to understand a city and it should not be seen as a job to be paid for, you should be proud to represent your community not to look for payment to do it, expenses yes payment no.

The UK

So all these  immigrants to the UK, whatever is it they are looking for?, whatever it is very few are finding it, many are camping out, some even on roundabouts in among the traffic, is this a life to lead?, why do they do it?, they have no chance, the main jobs available are working on the land, much of the income goes in accommodation and food so very little left for sending home, many are ripped off by landlords and gang masters, who pay very little money and charge massive rents, in this case life is a nightmare, is it worth the risk, the answer is NO, it is just not worth the hardship and abuse, better to work for a better life in your own country

Football / Ellection

I really have no interest in football as such so not sure I have the right to comment, but here goes, what the hell are the FA playing at nothing like going against massive support for Harry Redknap to become manager of England, but not the FA, lets have a manager who as far as Liverpool were concerned a looser so was sacked, but the Prof in the pudding will be just what happens in the future, but I will not hold my breath.

Now to something that always seems to happen in Peterborough at election time, someone arrested for election fraud, this is going on all the time, people passing blocks of votes from communioty to community to ensure that a certain  person is elected, I am sure that the election officers are aware, the police certainly know so why is the election allowed to be valid, it is time that the election officers did a survey of voting in certain areas of the city, it would be obvious the block voting that goes on, I know that it was going on in 1991 and it is still going on today, so why???.

Health

Still got a blocked ear drum, so much oil in it but will the wax move will it hell, it is a real pain, upsets your balance and so difficult to hear, then we have a hospital in private hands Hinchinbrook, you would think it would fail, no way it is progressing in leaps and bounds, I have always fought against private enterprise running the health service, but I am now becoming open to it if the present format of managers are unable to give the service we should receive, then just maybe this might be the answer to the demise of the NHS, it has to be said though that it has to be a free service to the population, I find it  galling that other nationals can use our service (what seem to be  free for them I may be wrong) when I know that if you are abroad in Europe and you are  British you had better have your credit card with you else you will not get any treatment, it is also galling that we have to bear the cost of translators be it health, courts, police and any where else these nationals get into.

Soldiers

I had to watch a mum of a soldier who had died on thew news this morning, so sad, she will miss him so much as will the rest of his family, this is an acceptable end when involved in a war men die, but it is not a war as we know it, why do our young men have to die for this non event, they can thank Blair and his "Weapon's of Mass Destruction" that started this mess off, so many dead, so many parents having to bury their child, it is not on, defending this country is one thing but being sent to another to die is just not on, time to think again, it is not for us to waste lives in Afghanistan, they are not interested, the rule of war lords is the norm, no matter what you do they will smile and just wait till your back is turned and that is for you the end, so its about time we realised this and brought our troops home in safety.

Rain

It seems that the heavens have opened up on Peterborough, water everywhere, but still madness on the roads, still the idiot doing 80/90 MPH, just what madness is it, no lights on seen at the last minute, spray every where, what chance of stopping NIL!!, but on they go merrily along not a thought in the world for others, then we come to the young lady drivers, joining from the slip road, of course going at the same speed as you, unable to go into the fast lane because of the idiot doing 80 MPH, so I have to brake hard to avoid hitting her, she leaves at the next junction as I go past a dumb blond driving, just where do these young girls learn to drive????.

Hospital

No Blog yesterday as I was in Hospital, mad house really, transport to hospital 1 hour late, bed not ready, 3 hours 30 Min's wait in the day room, just in time for tea !"!!, taken to my bed at 6.15pm, and left as they were very busy, saw a health care assistant who gave me a machine for my sleep evaluation, selected a mask and away she went, supper at 8pm cup of horlicks, waited and waited finally just about to succumb to sleep when the ward doctor arrived it was then 10.35pm, answered all her questions, and she gave me a chest medical then went, put the mask on, wow how difficult to sleep, on and off  till I  thought it was morning to find it was 4.15am, I had taken the mask off so put it back on and the next thing I remember it was 7.45am, while asleep they had managed to take a blood test to see what my blood sugars were while I was asleep !!, any way 2 slices of toast and a cup of tea, well I think it was tea?, went for a chest X-Ray and got ready to come home, my transport arrived at 10am, I was not to go till the Consultant had seen me, he managed to see me at 10.45am, seems I have an abnormal amount of fluid around my heart so had to have an ECG, managed to get the transport at 11am and then home, worried because of the fluid round my heart, he said that there should be fluid b y I have too much, so hear is wnhat has worried me he is passing me over to the heart people at Papworth, thing for me just going from bad to worse.

Díabetes

I see in the news today that Obesity is a cause of Type 2 diabetes, yes that might be a precursor to diabetes but it is not the only one, another cause is Hypertension ! or high blood pressure, so do not think that you can feel safe just because you are average weight for you age and height, remember you have no idea that you have hypertension so again you can't feel safe, you can only try to keep it at bay, good food, fresh veg, no processed foods just really a good diet, symptoms of diabetes, going to the toilet a lot, very thirsty, and very tired, if  you have the symptoms you need to see your GP Soon.

Wonga.com

Just how do we allow money lending at such a ridiculous cost to the borrower, it is known that people have got into debt with one of these companies, unable to meet repayments so talked in to a bigger loan to cover what they owe, can't meet the payment again borrow again, it is a roundabout that once on is nearly impossible to get off, interest rates in the thousands percent, what  these companies are doing is just the same as a loan shark that being illegal they have gone round the back door to legality, how can this happen?, how has the Treasury managed to allow this to happen, the problem is that we are in a recession, some people are desperate for money, so they turn to these people then on the slippery slope to oblivion, it is time to call a halt to this this loan shark legal money trap.

ADHD

ADHD is a discernible illness, can be diagnosed by abnormal X-Ray, so why is it that many people do not accept this to be true, so many talk about naughty children, it cant be denied that many are just naughty but ones that have been diagnosed are for real, it is a disgrace that many in authority do not believe this diagnosis plunging these children in to purgatory, left to get on with it, their parents labelled as inadequate, incompetent, sent on courses to teach them how to bring up their children, then to tell them that in fact their children are in fact ill, bit of a joke !!, meanwhile the child sufferers is that right??.

Health

Well I have had it confirmed today Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, so will be going on to CPAP as from Friday, the machine forces air in to you through your nose, I had a go on one for two hours once before when I was admitted to Papworth Hospital it drove me mad was so pleased to get it of but now it seems that I will be on one for some time, now comes the worse part, I have been married for 43 years this year, with the noise of this machine it would be unfair to expect her to sleep in the same room, so I will be moved down to the spare room, how sad is that??. Will let you know when I return from hospital on Sunday. Will still be doing a blog every day.

Health

Does the government  really think that the new health bill will allow more patient involvement in their care, in reality not a chance, I have no idea as to what happens all over the UK but I do know what is happening in my area, GP's are finding  the extra pressure with the bill is becoming too much, they are not sure that they can run their surgery's as well as the extra work that the bill imposes on them, and as far as patients are concerned they will have little or no involvement in the service that is provided, so where are we? no one seems to know they seem to be chasing their tails, to many employed staff not sure if they will have a job next April (2013), so what commitment might they have, I have to say very little, and I fully understand, but I am very worried as to what will happen to the level of care one might expect?, I wish I had an answer!!

The Midfdie East

So as an Englishman born in England so I remember England as it was, we now have in my home town so many immigrants it is just not believable, they have taken over an area of the city which in  reality a no go area for white people, shops have been taken over, all sorts of different foods served, well some of you just might say ar'n't you lucky spoilt for choice, may  be, but when it becomes dark it is just to frightening to go to  food outlet, so on we go, threats coming out of the Middle East if we deport anyone back to their own country, this is from Islamic extremists, it is not acceptable to come to this country and promote death and destruction, I have to remind these people that it is my tax that supports them and their families, I can remember the saying "don't bite the hand that feeds you", some  of these immigrants just do not understand that free speech is one thing preaching terror is a different matter, burning the Union Jack and a large Poppy is not acceptable, failing to show respect is another.
I have no Axe to grind with these people, I just expect some respect same as I show respect to them, finally soldiers are on active service, the reason for them being in the Middle East is to allow democracy to be reinstated, it seem that when you look deeply into the matter it is just not winnable at all, this is because the leaders are just as bad as the people they replaced, it is a really sad situation for the general public of these countries.

The World

It makes me mad, the Afghanistan government say they are capable of protecting their people, I think not from what I have read the SAS played a major part in the latest gun battle, so who is kidding who?.
It has to be remembered that the Russians had to leave the Middle East with their tails between their legs, they had at least  some common sense, they realised, in the country they were in they had no chance of winning or at least sorting out the government, so if that was what they found why are we in such a position that we are feeding the Taliban with fodder for their IED's, we have no idea as to who is the enemy who is a friend, it is not on, not a battle you can win, what is happening to our troops is very close to Vietnam, I just think it is time to get the hell out of their let them get on with it !!!!.+

Health

Well it has happened, I have to go to Papworth hospital overnight on the 27th, have to get used to a mask when sleeping, I really do not know how I will cope with it, you have to think of my wife, so it seems that the only  answer will be to sleep in separate rooms that after 43 years of marriage.

Happy Days I think not

What a day, pouring it down with rain, had a phone call but I was still asleep so my wife did not wake me only at the end of the call she realised it was my consultant who had sent me for the scan on my heart two weeks ago today, also the sleep test that I did the same day, but by then it was to late and he no further slots available to ring me again, so on getting up I rang his secretary to ask just what was going on, she told me that she was new so had no idea as to what was going on at the moment, so here I sit worried sick now having to wait for a letter that will tell me what the diagnosis is and the plan for me, it has wound me up no end, nearly in tears.

The World Today

What a day, in Oslo a killer tries to justify the killings of so many young people, the leaders in Syria are killing people by the dozen, the reason for no help to these Syrians just who would replace the government ?, the US and the UK are frightened that Syria would become an Islamic State, that is the link between both of these stories, in Oslo the killings were because of multicultuism, or in its base terms the Islamic community's spread, Holland has a community who believe that the Islamic population are dangerous, then we have France, they are implementing laws against Islam, we in the UK are frightened about Islamic Zealot's who preach death and destruction to the western world, which does not in the slightest help in the acceptance into the community of ethnic groups, we now have what in some respects seem to be enclaves in cities in the UK, in some places law breaking is prevalent from these communities, it has to be understood that many people from Eastern Europe send more money home to their home country rather than spending their income in this country, how long can we afford for money to be leaving here and being spent in other countries, this is of no benefit to this us, it has to be looked at.
So the government wants to have cigarette packets to be plain white, has anyone thought about the counterfeiting gangs, the cigarette companies have spent large amount of money to ensure that these gangs  do not have a free run, but now the government are playing into these gangs hands by even considering plain white packets !!.

Health again

I have had a scan on my heart a week last Wednesday, I also had an over night sleep procedure, as time goes by it becomes so difficult to cope with the fact that you do not know just what if anything has been found, I just hope that I am told soon but do not hold your breath.

MP's

It never ceases to amaze me that out MP's do not seem to have the slightest idea as to how the general public perceive them, I question their understanding of the man on the street, they have not the slightes idea as to how the man on the street actually feels, very poor NHS services, that for some reason held up as the great health service, I am sorry to tell them that is just not the case, we have poor policing now we even have the possibility of the PCCO being the front line not the constable just how stupid is that, for a start no power of arrest, we then have all the constraints of  daily life, tax on everything, petrol at a stupid cost, train travel intermittent, bus service, well it is not a service at all just buses running only for profit, so all in all they do not have the slightest understanding of just how it it is to live and survive in England today, meaning that MP's who say that they understand are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Diabetes Foot Care

Diabetes UK is campaigning for better foot care for people with Diabetes, it is so important for people to look after them selves but also to ensure that they get all the treatment that they are entitleds to.

The NHS

I have to ask why do ward sisters have to have a degree?, in reality they need to learn how to treat patients, especially the elderly, Project 2000 has it seems destroyed the word  "CARE" and eradicated from NHS language, no one knows who has the responsibility for the patient!, what a hell of a situation  to find ourselves in, you may be young but the day will come when you will need the care to survive in this world, you may  think that you are fine and not to worry well you have to worry, do you want to see your family in the hands of the NHS in its present state, or do you not think it is time to sort this mess out, if you are of the same mind email me.

Tuesday, 10 April 2012

NHS

I find it very sad this morning, the Independent is running a story about nurses and the lack of care that they provide in hospitals throughout the country, this is I am afraid not news to me I have been saying for the past two years that the word care has been excluded from the dictionary of the NHS, if you should be unlucky enough to find yourself in hospital and are classed as old watch out, do not be afraid to complain you must do it, it is your responsibility, this if for nothing other than stopping the same treatment  being dished out to the next patients. It is for us to complain no excuses report it and report it now !!!!.

Football again

Just have to say I do not support any team as such so I have no axe to grind but, I have to say how is it that Manchester United seem to be able to get away with anything at old trafford and away from home as well, the Referee and linesmen seem very afraid to play the game by the rules, TV replay is now so clear it is obvious that some players are able to fall with such ease that they should be put up for an acting prize, yesterday it cost QPR a goal and a player sent off for to be honest nothing at all, so how does this all happen, well from my point of view they FA is absolutely frightened to death by Alex Ferguson, who is full of wind and Scottish bluster, his case is everyone is against MU, not surprising after the Ronaldo cheating saga, very easy to win if you cheat, so best defence is attack, and people pay very good money to watch, God save us all.

Sunday, 8 April 2012

Syria

Is it not rather  funny that there has been very little news about the death and destruction that is subjected on the people of that country, no one seems to be really committed to helping these people, I just hope the UN makes a concerted effort to stop the carnage.

Assisting the Police

There I was walking the dog when I saw a young child about three roaming about, it did not worry me as I new he lived in the street and that his parents had probably just let him out into the garden to play, they know that the back gate does not close and off he goes, no point going round to tell them he is in the street as you would get nothing but abuse, so went home, decided to go and pay the paper bill, to see two police men running all over the street, so on asking them what was up I was told they were looking for the boy I had seen earlier, it seems several people had rang the police saying that this young boy was by himself in the street, I told them where he lived and he was, they went round to see the parents, I saw them on my way back returning to their cars, they had found him at the house I had told them to go to and had spoken to his parents, I told them it was a waste of time because he is always roaming about with no supervision, so as it turned out all was well, but it meant that two police officers and their cars were tied up for 90 mins wasting their time and our money on some thing that should never have happened, the parents should be ashamed but you can be sure they had not a care in the World.

Footballers

I just have to say what cost will all these footballers tattoos be to the NHS in years to come??, they might think it is cool now but when you are out of football you will look a pillock, you are not cool disfiguring your skin, you are a fool, so Manny people I have met over my life time have bitterly regretted having a tattoo, so its like this stop being a silly boy (boy because that is what you are) grow up and for once in your life behave like a man!!!.

Trousers

Please, please, please tell me why men insist in showing everyone their underpants, the bum of the jeans, trousers at what can only be called half mast, come on ladies tell them to grow up, I am told that is a sign that you are Gay in the USA prison system, well young men of Britain grow up, mummy must have shown you how to dress surely, if not ask her for her help, I can assure you she knows how to do it, I have to say it is not smart it does not look cool at all, so please learn to dress like an adult it is not hard!"!!!!.

Sleep test

Carrying on from yesterday I had a real mess last night, putting the equipment on I had wires going all directions, normally I sleep with just boxer shorts on no more, but last night I had to have a tee shirt on, tubes up my nose taped to my face, a finger cable to go down the sleeve, my God what a pain, just not enough cable, then the one on my throat to pick up my snoring (if I indeed do), they seem to think that everyone who looks like I do snores, I have been married 43 years my wife has never ever mentioned me snoring to any extent, I rest my case, any way all wired up I went to bed, just how they expect you to sleep I have no idea I woke fully at 7am totally and utterly shattered, so pleased to get the wires off, went to put it all back in its bag when I found a paper asking me to tell them, how many times I woke during the night,  how long were you awake?, could you relate any thing useful that might help with this test, yes I was awake most of the night so I really have no idea as to how many or how long, the whole thing was a real pain, I have spent most of the day asleep looking forward to finding out just what is wrong with me, will report the results as soon as I have them.

Papworth Hospital Cambs

Well had to go to Papworth Hospital today, had a scan on my heart, a bit apprehensive on arrival, but very friendly staff very kind and caring, the chap who did the scan was great full of chat so that the time went by very quickly before I realised it it was over, I can only say what great service second to none, I will be on edge though for 14 days waiting for the result, I went from the heart hospital to the sleep clinic where I was taught how to use a machine for when I go to bed tonight to see what my level  of oxygen when I am asleep is, many cables and belts to fit before bed, I just wonder if with all this on will I sleep at all!!!, will report tomorrow.

Mobility Scooter

Well, I have just had my scooter replaced bu the British Legion, looks great, a lot faster than my old one, has springs so better for a trip to the shops, wow bounced all over the place, the springs made the trip a nightmare, really had a bad ride, hurt my back and gave me a headache, what a pain in the bum, the guy who came is going to recommend a bigger scooter to stop the problem, I just hope that they listen to him.

The Falklands

Argentina, what a pitty the silly woman who purports to be prime minister has to use this day to insult us, they lost the war, it is over no one of both armies wants to see it start again, the Falklands lies 400miles from Argentina so not close by by any stretch of the imagination, the Falkland Islanders want to stay British so it is there in the sky keep your hands off they do not want to belong to Argentina so go  away forever and leave them alone.

The Falklands

Bit of a shock this morning!, I did not realise that it was 30 years since the war, I was on the regular reserve in the army and was called up to be on stand by to go, but as luck would have it I was stood down, very lucky.

April Fool

So pleased today, did not read one, did not hear one, did not see one, there are enough jokes going on today for real, George Galloway in Bradford, Syria, more restrictions on Iran by the USA, North Korea testing rockets, how long before the west has to suffer another crazy attack.

Petrol

Now I have seen it all, this poor lady moving petrol from a 5ltr can into a jug (why a jug I ask myself
surely the petrol can had a poorer) in her kitchen with the gas stove switched on, the gas ignited the fuel vapours she dropped the can spilling more petrol result 40% burns, she was doing it to put some petrol in her daughters car as it was low on fuel, I just can't understand why in the kitchen near a lighted gas ring just makes no sense to me but saying that I am very sorry for the injury's she has received and I hope she makes as fuller recovery as possible, and my thoughts are with her family.

My Grandson

I am so proud tonight, my grandson has just completed his work experience, with a security firm, a massive change in him, never late did not want to stop, he was told today the when he is 17 and leaves school he will have a job, just a great result for him and the family, it is so good because he has severe ADHD.

Bradford

Has the world gone mad, George Galloway elected as an MP, this is a man who was mates with despots of all nationalities in the middle east, what way will he represent the people?, he has always been known as a big head "look at me", you voted him in you will have to put up with him till the end of this parliament, best of luck.

Petrol

Just what is going on with these idiots queueing for hundreds of yards to get to the pumps, and more joining the Que every min, why ????, stupidity that is the why, we do not even know when the strike will happen if it does, there will only be a shortage if these inconsiderate drivers continue on in this crazy way, one point to them, if you store petrol in your garage shed or house and a fire should happen the insurance company will laugh and say tough luck you have broken your agreement, pay for it yourself you silly person!!. but then again they probably have no insurance for the house nor the car!!!

Good Weather

It is really great the lovely sunshine, it has brought the Bilkers out, flying everywhere not a care in the world, but then the A47 junction with the A15 in Peterborough, there lies a biker on the floor 2 medics over him, bike smashed up in the gutter, what a terrible end to a great day, bikers please remember a car/lorry is going to hurt you very badly so pleas take care, I hope all is well with him.

Health Matters

Diabetes and the care of the Diabetic, have to talk about this as I have Type 2 insulin dependent, it really is a pain in the bum, testing blood sugar levels so many times a day, having to work out the carbs in your meal then injecting the correct amount of insulin, it is not easy, then you have to take care of everything else that is wrong with you, heart, kidney and vascular problems bucket loads of pills to go with the injections, myself I have to take 16 different medications, just what do you think it is like?, everyday all this medication, only one thing for sure it keeps you alive, so it is important to live each day fully, more to copme.

Diabetes Care

many diabetics loose lower limbs when in fact it need not happen, it really says a lot for our health services, if it is preventable for Gods sake prevent it, education both of the patient and the nurses is a  basic need, patients have a responsibility to ensure that they look after themselves, but the nurse and doctors have a bigger responsibility to the paintent they are the allegedly trained people,  diabetics  have to trust on the expertise of these people treating them, as it is at the moment this is a trust to far.

GP Services

Long day today, not too good getting up lots of angina real pain in the bum, frightening thing is is this the last time it will happen is this the end?, only just started thinking this way, but on the brighter side of life I have just been elected chair of my GP's patient group, is this the right thing to do I ask myself, we shall see, I have a year to make a mark, I hope it will be an interesting experience.

diabetes care

with the new health bill, I have to ask just what is my treatment going to be like from now on, I just have a massive felling that it is going to get worse rather than better, I just  hope that in the future I will not need surgery because I will not be cost effective for any surgery, sad after I have paid in for 50 years,

Life

or loss of, too many people are dieing in the world today, Syria and Africa why is nothing done? there seems to be despots every where, death and destruction, what does the World do Nothing, the medical condition of children in the World today, I have to say that I think the efforts of John Bishop are a credit to him and his family, the pain he put himself through should be recognised and he very proud of his achievement.

Hospital Care

It is sad that many people who I talk to have had a bitter experience of a hospital, the experience is that the word "care" has vanished in the hospital service, many patients report that some nurses just do not want to be there, it is sad if you are elderly, young nurses do not want to work with frail elderly patients, consequently we have a rise in bed sores, malnutrition and falls leading to pneumonia, and if very frail death!,
It certainly worries me as I am 66 have diabetes and heart problems, will I receive the best service that can be provided?, I think not, the cost in looking after me will cost  a great deal of money, and because of my illnesses service for me is tempered by the consultants worry of loosing me during being looked after, far better to get the GP to provide medication than take any chance with my life, sad really.

NHS

Andrew Landsley yesterday saw his bill go through parliament, it was bound to happen but this is the death of the NHS, they might carry on and on about the benefits but it will not do what they think it will, GP's  aren't qualified to commission, so a commissioning level will have to be created, that was called the PCT so what change will there be?, more and more private health care, these companies will cherry pick the services, hospitals will not be able to compete for services their costs  will be to high for them to get contracts, so watch and see, the really sad thing is that when the government changes this will all happen again.

health care the white paper

It has to be said that the bill making its way through parliament just shows the level of understanding of  ministers with regard to health care, in all of this the one major thing is the well being and best interests of the patient, they are not interested in who provides the service as long as it is the NHS, we do not need private providers, nor do we need league tables, we just want a service, we see to many managers and not enough grass root staff, we see patient protected meal times good idea to keep the doctors away but it also keeps the family away as well, so any help to feed patients has been chased away, so I think before things go back to the dark ages think again.

The NHS

The NHS will be safe in our hands so say the coalition, I think not, the GP's and patients will have more say in health care, in fact the new bill will put back patient involvement in health care 30 years, there will be less patient involvement in care, why do we need to have choice in hospitals we attend, surely a patient wants to see his or her GP who will refer you to your local hospital and you will be seen, there is no real need to change this system, we have had choice or have we, since its inception I have never had a choice and to be honest I do not want a choice, 18 weeks does not work, hospitals play games by using any excuse to stop the clock on the 18 weeks, before you know it you are about 52weeks.
We need a system that does not rely on targets, targets mea\ns mistakes some fatal, so lets get back to a caring service that we can trust.

USA

Now we are big buddy's  with the US all will  be good for us from now on, not a chance we will have more problems than we can cope with.

Dad's Birthday

Just realised if my dad had lived a few years longer he would be 100, alas I lost him 1991

Railways

It has to be time for the railways to be nationalised, we need a service, this can't be provided by private companies, so many can't conform to their contracts it is a joke, price is ridiculous, cleanliness is even worse, time keeping is awful, my worst trip has been  on "Trans Pennine Express", seats terrible, over  crowded what more can I say ?

Lower Body Amputations in Diabetics

I have just seen that lower leg preventable amputations are increasing, every 30 seconds a diabetic has a lower limb amputated, this is barbaric, the NHS has no excuse regarding these amputations, time for the public to say stop before it is YOU !!

OAP

Good morning, feeling rough this morning my diabetes causing me problems, well I am an OAP just mind you, 7 months in fact, it is a worry that getting older the level of care you might receive is not what you would expect, the news today is that the care of the elderly is not at all at the required level, I for one after bitter experiences with the NHS in the past, and of course social services who seem to have no idea as to what level of care a person might need, I understand it costs money where can it come from, I believe that before we support any other country we should get our own priorities right, no doubt it will be to late for me !!.

the middle east

I see that they USA have removed the killer soldier from Afghanistan, what now?, how many will now die because of his actions, worst of all our soldiers, God forbid they never get caught alive as I just can't think of the retubution they will receive and it is no fault of their own, it must be time to get them out before this happens, the Russians spent many years there with thousands more troops, they saw the light and withdrew, why not us!!

Syria Again

Three young teenage girls, having to watch murder and mayhem all round, why is this allowed to go on, the state has no right to murder its people, but no one cares.

Wednesday, 14 March 2012

the middle east

Just what is going on, Syria is killing its people hand over fist, do we or the rest of the world help? no of course not, Russia and China vetoed any plan that might just save lives, why?, it seems that the Russians have a contract to supply arms to the Syrian government, so the killing will go on, I am sure the Syrian people will say thank you for giving the authority's the weapons and ammunition to kill them, both China and Russia should be ashamed.
