Petrol

Now I have seen it all, this poor lady moving petrol from a 5ltr can into a jug (why a jug I ask myself
surely the petrol can had a poorer) in her kitchen with the gas stove switched on, the gas ignited the fuel vapours she dropped the can spilling more petrol result 40% burns, she was doing it to put some petrol in her daughters car as it was low on fuel, I just can't understand why in the kitchen near a lighted gas ring just makes no sense to me but saying that I am very sorry for the injury's she has received and I hope she makes as fuller recovery as possible, and my thoughts are with her family.

My Grandson

I am so proud tonight, my grandson has just completed his work experience, with a security firm, a massive change in him, never late did not want to stop, he was told today the when he is 17 and leaves school he will have a job, just a great result for him and the family, it is so good because he has severe ADHD.

Bradford

Has the world gone mad, George Galloway elected as an MP, this is a man who was mates with despots of all nationalities in the middle east, what way will he represent the people?, he has always been known as a big head "look at me", you voted him in you will have to put up with him till the end of this parliament, best of luck.

Petrol

Just what is going on with these idiots queueing for hundreds of yards to get to the pumps, and more joining the Que every min, why ????, stupidity that is the why, we do not even know when the strike will happen if it does, there will only be a shortage if these inconsiderate drivers continue on in this crazy way, one point to them, if you store petrol in your garage shed or house and a fire should happen the insurance company will laugh and say tough luck you have broken your agreement, pay for it yourself you silly person!!. but then again they probably have no insurance for the house nor the car!!!

Good Weather

It is really great the lovely sunshine, it has brought the Bilkers out, flying everywhere not a care in the world, but then the A47 junction with the A15 in Peterborough, there lies a biker on the floor 2 medics over him, bike smashed up in the gutter, what a terrible end to a great day, bikers please remember a car/lorry is going to hurt you very badly so pleas take care, I hope all is well with him.

Health Matters

Diabetes and the care of the Diabetic, have to talk about this as I have Type 2 insulin dependent, it really is a pain in the bum, testing blood sugar levels so many times a day, having to work out the carbs in your meal then injecting the correct amount of insulin, it is not easy, then you have to take care of everything else that is wrong with you, heart, kidney and vascular problems bucket loads of pills to go with the injections, myself I have to take 16 different medications, just what do you think it is like?, everyday all this medication, only one thing for sure it keeps you alive, so it is important to live each day fully, more to copme.

Diabetes Care

many diabetics loose lower limbs when in fact it need not happen, it really says a lot for our health services, if it is preventable for Gods sake prevent it, education both of the patient and the nurses is a  basic need, patients have a responsibility to ensure that they look after themselves, but the nurse and doctors have a bigger responsibility to the paintent they are the allegedly trained people,  diabetics  have to trust on the expertise of these people treating them, as it is at the moment this is a trust to far.

GP Services

Long day today, not too good getting up lots of angina real pain in the bum, frightening thing is is this the last time it will happen is this the end?, only just started thinking this way, but on the brighter side of life I have just been elected chair of my GP's patient group, is this the right thing to do I ask myself, we shall see, I have a year to make a mark, I hope it will be an interesting experience.

diabetes care

with the new health bill, I have to ask just what is my treatment going to be like from now on, I just have a massive felling that it is going to get worse rather than better, I just  hope that in the future I will not need surgery because I will not be cost effective for any surgery, sad after I have paid in for 50 years,

Life

or loss of, too many people are dieing in the world today, Syria and Africa why is nothing done? there seems to be despots every where, death and destruction, what does the World do Nothing, the medical condition of children in the World today, I have to say that I think the efforts of John Bishop are a credit to him and his family, the pain he put himself through should be recognised and he very proud of his achievement.

Hospital Care

It is sad that many people who I talk to have had a bitter experience of a hospital, the experience is that the word "care" has vanished in the hospital service, many patients report that some nurses just do not want to be there, it is sad if you are elderly, young nurses do not want to work with frail elderly patients, consequently we have a rise in bed sores, malnutrition and falls leading to pneumonia, and if very frail death!,
It certainly worries me as I am 66 have diabetes and heart problems, will I receive the best service that can be provided?, I think not, the cost in looking after me will cost  a great deal of money, and because of my illnesses service for me is tempered by the consultants worry of loosing me during being looked after, far better to get the GP to provide medication than take any chance with my life, sad really.

NHS

Andrew Landsley yesterday saw his bill go through parliament, it was bound to happen but this is the death of the NHS, they might carry on and on about the benefits but it will not do what they think it will, GP's  aren't qualified to commission, so a commissioning level will have to be created, that was called the PCT so what change will there be?, more and more private health care, these companies will cherry pick the services, hospitals will not be able to compete for services their costs  will be to high for them to get contracts, so watch and see, the really sad thing is that when the government changes this will all happen again.

health care the white paper

It has to be said that the bill making its way through parliament just shows the level of understanding of  ministers with regard to health care, in all of this the one major thing is the well being and best interests of the patient, they are not interested in who provides the service as long as it is the NHS, we do not need private providers, nor do we need league tables, we just want a service, we see to many managers and not enough grass root staff, we see patient protected meal times good idea to keep the doctors away but it also keeps the family away as well, so any help to feed patients has been chased away, so I think before things go back to the dark ages think again.

The NHS

The NHS will be safe in our hands so say the coalition, I think not, the GP's and patients will have more say in health care, in fact the new bill will put back patient involvement in health care 30 years, there will be less patient involvement in care, why do we need to have choice in hospitals we attend, surely a patient wants to see his or her GP who will refer you to your local hospital and you will be seen, there is no real need to change this system, we have had choice or have we, since its inception I have never had a choice and to be honest I do not want a choice, 18 weeks does not work, hospitals play games by using any excuse to stop the clock on the 18 weeks, before you know it you are about 52weeks.
We need a system that does not rely on targets, targets mea\ns mistakes some fatal, so lets get back to a caring service that we can trust.

USA

Now we are big buddy's  with the US all will  be good for us from now on, not a chance we will have more problems than we can cope with.

Dad's Birthday

Just realised if my dad had lived a few years longer he would be 100, alas I lost him 1991

Railways

It has to be time for the railways to be nationalised, we need a service, this can't be provided by private companies, so many can't conform to their contracts it is a joke, price is ridiculous, cleanliness is even worse, time keeping is awful, my worst trip has been  on "Trans Pennine Express", seats terrible, over  crowded what more can I say ?

Lower Body Amputations in Diabetics

I have just seen that lower leg preventable amputations are increasing, every 30 seconds a diabetic has a lower limb amputated, this is barbaric, the NHS has no excuse regarding these amputations, time for the public to say stop before it is YOU !!

OAP

Good morning, feeling rough this morning my diabetes causing me problems, well I am an OAP just mind you, 7 months in fact, it is a worry that getting older the level of care you might receive is not what you would expect, the news today is that the care of the elderly is not at all at the required level, I for one after bitter experiences with the NHS in the past, and of course social services who seem to have no idea as to what level of care a person might need, I understand it costs money where can it come from, I believe that before we support any other country we should get our own priorities right, no doubt it will be to late for me !!.

the middle east

I see that they USA have removed the killer soldier from Afghanistan, what now?, how many will now die because of his actions, worst of all our soldiers, God forbid they never get caught alive as I just can't think of the retubution they will receive and it is no fault of their own, it must be time to get them out before this happens, the Russians spent many years there with thousands more troops, they saw the light and withdrew, why not us!!

Syria Again

Three young teenage girls, having to watch murder and mayhem all round, why is this allowed to go on, the state has no right to murder its people, but no one cares.

the middle east

Just what is going on, Syria is killing its people hand over fist, do we or the rest of the world help? no of course not, Russia and China vetoed any plan that might just save lives, why?, it seems that the Russians have a contract to supply arms to the Syrian government, so the killing will go on, I am sure the Syrian people will say thank you for giving the authority's the weapons and ammunition to kill them, both China and Russia should be ashamed.
